I wish I could take you with me
All the way to New York City
We could get an apartment there
Be closer to the...
We could take my station wagon
And fill it to the brim
And wave goodbye to all our lovely friends
Never to return again
You could write for picture shows
And I could get a job waiting tables
At a restaurant where famous people like to go
We could buy old overcoats and walk through the snow
All the way around central park
Our cheeks as pink as wild roses
We could take the subway home
And stare at our reflection in the window panes of the train
And see how much New York has changed us
i feel like saying all of that to my husband right now. but, i love my friends TOO much to say goodbye right now. for reals. they are somethin else. enough to keep my heart here. ive been realizing lately what a gift i have in them. when you find like-minded hearts that intertwine with yours and it feels oh so natural...so beautiful. im incredibly thankful for the loves in my life. im feeling more free than ever, more loved than ever, more myself than ever...
so, for now...i will continue to dream. one day! but, for now...im content in the here&now. i mean, ive got it pretty good here. and, i can honestly say that i love it. maybe i'll feel different tomorrow...ha! but, today my heart is in the right place. i am able to see truth. i will hold onto today and remember it when tomorrow's crap/real life takes hold.
here's another song i adore...enjoy...
